The University of the West Indies Mona, is pleased to announce that Director (Acting) of the Business Development Office, Mr. Fabian Stewart, was elected to the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) Board of Directors where he will serve a two-year term. The announcement was made at the biennial PAHF Congress held in Santiago, Chile in January 2022.

Mr Stewart is the first Jamaica Hockey Federation (JHF) President to be elected to the PAHF Board of Directors in over a decade. While growth in the sport has been affected by the Pandemic over the past two years, the JHF has accomplished the following under President Stewart’s leadership: 

• Jamaican Men’s Team winning the Central American & Caribbean Games Qualifier in April 2022 and securing an automatic spot to the CAC Games scheduled for May 2023;
• Jamaican Women’s Team securing bronze at the Central American & Caribbean Games Qualifier
• PAHF regional programs for Coaching, Training and Development 2016 – 2022;
• Received the PAHF’s President’s Award for Youth Development 2019; and
• The PAHF Award for successfully hosting the Pan Am CAC Qualifiers in 2017  

Mr Stewart also serves on the Board of Directors for the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA).
