Professor Eris D. Schoburgh Elected Vice President of the International Research Society for Public Management

Professor Eris D. Schoburgh has been elected unopposed to the position of Vice President of the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) representing the Caribbean and Latin American Region at the latest round of elections that concluded in February 2022.

The IRSPM is one of the highest ranked academic associations established to, inter alia, support an international network of researchers in the areas of public management and public policy implementation from multi-disciplinary and inter disciplinary perspectives; disseminate new research findings and theory through the adopted journal of the Society (Public Management Review) as well as by establishing other publication and research dissemination opportunities; facilitate the renewal of the international research community by supporting new and emerging researchers, and researchers from the developing and transitional nations, by facilitating their introduction into the research community of public management and public policy implementation.

The IRSPM has organized the most successful series of annual conferences through partnerships with top-tier universities internationally.

Professor Schoburgh has been an active member of IRSPM from the start of her academic journey. She is credited with advancing public management research and the work of IRSPM in the Caribbean and Latin American Region through consistent participation in IRSPM conferences; organisation of panels for these conferences; and introduction of young academics to IRSPM networks. She organized, with the endorsement and support of the Department of Government, the first IRSPM-Regional Conference at Mona in 2015. 

Professor Eris D. Schoburgh served the Faculty of Social Sciences as Associate Dean. She lectures courses in public policy and management at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Department of Government where she currently coordinates the Public and Policy Management Unit. She is the current president of the Caribbean Studies Association (CSA) and a member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) and the International Public Policy Association (IPPA).
