Alwain Bisasor (left), UWI STAT Ambassador, and Daniel Allison, Vice President of Finance, kneel on the lawn across from Alumni House, Mona Campus, during a break in a tree-planting exercise on Saturday, October 9, 2021. They are supported (from left) by Damario Patterson, UWI STAT Ambassador, Carla Plunkett, UWI STAT Ambassador Designate, Tanya McFarlane, Vice President of Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change, and Chris-Andrew Baker, Deputy Vice President of Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change.

The group planted 18 trees around Alumni House to mark National Tree planting day, which was celebrated on October 1. They were sponsored by the Forestry Department and GraceKennedy Limited.

National Tree Planting Day, which was launched in 2003, seeks to support national development in the areas of climate change and reforestation.
