The University of the West Indies (UWI) and the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) have formally strengthened their longstanding collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management, UWI Cave Hill Campus on May 28, 2026.

The Office of Administration at The University of the West Indies (The UWI) wishes to alert all staff—particularly those in Registry, Admissions, and other student-facing units—of the existence of an unauthorised website falsely purporting to be affiliated with the University. Please refer to the accompanying screenshots.

This website is not endorsed, affiliated with, or authorised by The UWI and appears to be using the University’s name and branding without permission, while misrepresenting a relationship with the institution.

The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, is aware that a small group of Administrative, Technical and Service (ATS) staff members is currently protesting over unpaid salaries and has gathered at the University's main entrance.
The University wishes to make it clear that all salaries due to faculty and staff have been paid in full and on time for each pay period. There is, therefore, no issue of unpaid salary at the University.

Approximately three dozen affiliates from The University of the West Indies (The UWI)—including students, faculty, staff, and alumni—have been selected for the highly competitive inaugural Resilient Global Digital Infrastructure (GDI) Fellowship.

The Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies is pleased to share that The University of the West Indies (The UWI) has achieved an outstanding milestone in the 2026 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Teach-In Campaign. In April it was announced that The UWI secured 3rd place globally among 68 participating institutions across 23 countries, with 845 educators pledging to include one or more of the SDGs in their teaching.

As part of our coordinated activation at the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference currently underway at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, The UWI Mona continues to champion its theme: "Caribbean Excellence, Global Impact."

The UWI Mona will participate in the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, scheduled for June 14 to 18 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.
The conference, organised by the Government of Jamaica, will bring together leaders and stakeholders from the diaspora, government, academia, civil society, media and the private sector under the theme, “Diaspora Partnerships: Rebuilding a More Climate-Resilient Jamaica.”
