"Coming to the University of the West Indies from Montego Bay, I had no idea where my career would begin. Being from outside the Corporate Area, I did not have the professional network or connections that many students in Kingston already had. As graduation approached, I often wondered where my first opportunity would come from. Through the Office of Placement and Career Services, I secured an internship with a major company in Jamaica that aligned with my field of study. It remains one of the greatest opportunities I have ever received. After completing my final examinations, I moved back home. Just two weeks later, I received a call for an interview, and that interview led to my first professional job. Looking back, I can confidently say that none of this would have been possible without the support of The Office of Placement and Career Services. From the career expos to the resume reviews and interview preparation sessions, they equipped me with the skills and confidence to begin my career. I am sincerely grateful to the entire team for investing in students like me and creating opportunities that truly make a difference."
