The SPSW Assessment Centre
OVERVIEW: The Assessment Centre will offer to the campus community and visitors, various psychological tests to assess and provide feedback related to perceived personality traits, capabilities, interest areas and career direction.
URD DAY TWO TEST OFFERED: O-Net Ability Tester.
This test will assess the respondent’s aptitudes across six key aptitudes needed to be successful in a wide variety of occupations
SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
Department Exhibit and Demonstration
OVERVIEW: Interactive displays and presentations by engineering students groups. The first-year Civil Engineering students will display a scaled model of the study area between JPS, Rockfort and Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA).
DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTING
ACTIVITY: Autonomous Delivery Drone Demo
OVERVIEW: The display will demonstrate a delivery drone capable of accepting ‘orders’ from a website, retrieving the payload from a pick up point and navigating to the drop off point and back to its base. This project has applications in logistic services for retailers, service providers and government agencies. It is a collaboration between the Computing Society, Electronics Club, Alternative Energy Club and the UWI IEEE Student Branch.

OVERVIEW: Range of experiments including
- Extracting DNA at Home from fruits
- Potato Cloning demonstration
- Making paper from floral parts and Newspaper
- Demonstration-Wine making from local fruits
MODERN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURES

THEME: Languages: Gateway to the World
OVERVIEW: Cultural Items from various countries that speak the languages taught in the Department (e.g. Food, Posters, Published works from academic staff, etc.) will be on display.
LIBRARY AND INFORMATION STUDIES
Department Display
THEME: Using Libraries and Archives to stimulate Scholarship and Research.
OVERVIEW: The display will showcase research, our various programmes including our new Master of Arts in Archives and Records Management and career opportunities. Visitors can observe and ask questions about our demonstrations in book repair and preserving archival materials. Spot prizes for correct answers to an Information Literacy game.
