The IGDS in collaboration with UN Women Jamaica proposes to host a symposium in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025 under the global theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” The symposium will showcase the recent research done by key entities on women and girls as well as feature a panel discussion on the state of research on women in Jamaica. The symposium aims to inspire and equip persons with knowledge of key information on the state of Jamaican women and girls as well as offer resources and information to empower young women.

Through Anansi storytelling, creative non-fiction and illustrations, the book celebrates African descended women as important cultural bearers for their community.
