SCMD1033 Computed Topography (CT)
Short Course
The Graduate Certificate in Radiological Sciences is designed to provide advanced discourse and practice in Computed Tomography. The Programme will run for 24 weeks and comprise of 14 weeks didactic training at 15 hours per week, and 10 weeks clinical rotation at 40 hours per week. Computed Tomography (CT) is one of the most critical radiological modalities today in modern medicine. Clinicians increasingly rely on images acquired by this radiology modality for patient diagnosis and prognosis. As such, there is a constant need for Radiographers trained in this area. Most practicing Radiographers in Jamaica and the Caribbean are not certified in this modality and have only practiced the technique on the job, thus the need for structured training in Computed Tomography. This programme will serve as the only such offering of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean.
