Affective Teaching and Learning in Tertiary Level Institutions: An Imperative for the 21st Century

Affective learning has become increasingly important in the preparation of students for life. This article draws on a study that examined the delivery of Student Services, (the department that concentrates on qualitative affective social learning) in two types of tertiary level institutions - Universities and teachers' colleges - in order to ascertain the value students ascribe to affective offerings delivered by selected Student Services' units measured against the actual satisfaction students derive from accessing the offerings of these units.
