About

The Caribbean Centre for Research in Bioscience (CCRIB) is a dedicated research centre within the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the West Indies, Mona.  It was formed in 2023 by the amalgamation of the former Natural Products Institute (NPI) and the former Biotechnology Centre . CCRIB is home to a dynamic team of academic and technical scientists whose expertise lies in chemistry, pharmacology, computational biochemistry, insect vectors of human diseases, molecular virology,  ethnobotany and ethnobiology and plant tissue culture.
 
CCRIB offers two (2) new graduate research programmes in addition to their existing MPhil/PhD in Biotechnology.

  1. Master in Philosophy (MPhil) or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ethnobotany and Ethnobiology
  2. Master in Philosophy (MPhil) or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmacognosy.
