Dr. Anthony Savari Raj Lourdusamy is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy (DLLP), Faculty of Humanities and Education, at the University of the West Indies at Mona, Jamaica, and formerly a Professor of Philosophy and Head, Department of Arts at Manipal University Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He has served as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Philosophy, University of Madras, for more than a decade. His areas of interest and expertise include Philosophy of Culture, Intercultural Philosophy, Cross-cultural Philosophy of Religion, Modern Western Philosophy, Ecophilosophy, Technology and Human Values, and Raimon Panikkar’s Thought. He has enjoyed several National and International Research Fellowships, such as the Charles Wallace Visiting Fellowship, University of Bristol, UK, and the Woodstock International Visiting Fellowship, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., USA. He has authored three books including A New Hermeneutic of Reality: Raimon Panikkar’s Cosmotheandric Vision (Bern, et al: Peter Lang AG, 1998), and has to his credit numerous research articles in several reputed national and international scholarly journals. He has been a Visiting Professor of Philosophy and Religion in several prestigious institutions of India, including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) and has enjoyed a 2012-2013 Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Lectureship at George Mason University (Department of Religious Studies), Fairfax, VA, USA. Dr. Anthony has served as ICCR Chair of Indian Studies (deputed by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India) at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, from 2019-21.
