On September 11, 2019 the UWI, Mona launched its Food Establishments and Service Policy (FESP) at the Mona Visitors Lodge and Conference Centre. The Policy is aimed at improving food safety on the Mona Campus, including WJC.
The Campus Registrar, Dr. Donovan Stanberry, in his Opening Remarks, expressed the importance of food safety on the campus, while Principal and Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Dale Webber, in the Main Address, framed the Policy in terms of The UWI’s Strategic Plan and referred to the core values diversity, excellence and student-centeredness to which the Policy correlates. A presentation was also done on the sustainability of the Policy, the application process and sanitation.
A lively question and answer ensured where food establishment operators were able to get immediate responses to their questions.
The Food Establishments and Service Policy will be implemented by the Food Establishments and Service Committee and monitored by the Food Establishments and Service Committee. All queries can be directed to fess@uwimona.edu.jm.
