In 2016, the Faculty of Medical Sciences, given its leadership role in the Caribbean, achieved executive membership in the Pan American Health Organisation’s supported Consortium for the Advancement of Social Accountability in Health Professions Education in the Region of the Americas. The Faculty has recently stepped up its outreach activities to communities as part of its strategic vision for social accountability. This is done under faculty supervision while at the same time having students across disciplines work within a team setting. Our students are playing a key role in social outreach within the academy.
