The Department of Basic Medical Sciences strives to be a multidisciplinary Department promoting excellence in teaching and research in Basic Medical Sciences at the regional and international levels.
The Department of Surgery, Radiology, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (SURRADIC) is the largest clinical department in the FMS.
The Department of Pathology is committed to providing quality undergraduate and postgraduate education and research, utilizing the laboratory services at University Hospital of the West Indies.
Our vision is to be a transformative leader in Teaching & Learning & Research in the Faculty of Medical Sciences for the advancement of Women’s Health.
The Department of Microbiology has the mandate to train world class health care workers in microbiology with a commitment to scholarship and research. As such, the staff members of the department offer quality undergraduate and postgraduate education to students of the university.
The department has four functional units, Public Health, Family Medicine, Psychiatry and the Community Health Centre. Through these units the department provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The Department of Child and Adolescent Health strives for excellence in clinical service, research, intellectual leadership, advisory and community services and training of undergraduate students and postgraduate doctors.
