This study assesses the ability of the triglyceride to high density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio to identify Caribbean-born Hispanic black and non-Hispanic black persons with insulin resistance.

Netball is a popular sport in Jamaica. Injuries in Jamaican netball players are examined between two world championships over a four- year span (2003–2007). Factors associated with injury prevention in the sport are evaluated.
5. Detection of Drug Resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis among Patients with and without HIV Infection in a Rural Setting

This research establishes the sensitivity of the Griess nitrate reductase assay (NRA) and the Hain molecular line probe assay (LPA) in tuberculosis (TB)/HIV co-infected patients in Guyana. It also highlights the difference in sensitivities of the two drug susceptibility tests.
