Study pertaining to the Hypothermic Activity of Plumeria rubra, Linn. in PGE1 and TAB-Vaccine Induced Pyrexia Models in Rabbits

Synopsis: 
Plumeria rubra, is a potent hypothermia agent. Its efficacy was tested against typhoid (TAB) vaccine and prostaglandin-induced hyperthermia in rabbits. At oral test dose 100 and 200 mg/kg, Plumeria rubra showed excellent hypothermic potential comparable to paracetamol and aspirin.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Plumeria rubra, Linn is a potent medicinal plant in the global systems of medicine. The objective of the present work was to study the antipyretic activity of the plant: Plumeria rubra, Linn is belonging to the family Apocynaceae.
