A study was conducted to understand the lifestyle of dentists in south India. The dentists were found to be affected by time and scheduling pressures and pay related stressors but were largely satisfied with their jobs as dentists.

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of the present study was to know the job related stressors of dentists in Belgaum, their social life and the job satisfaction associated with dentists working in Belgaum city. The purpose of the study was to find out some of the common health problems frequently encountered by dentists, protective measures taken by dentists while treating patients and measures taken for selfcare.

Dental Caries Status and Treatment Needs of Children of Fisher Folk Communities, Residing in the Costal Areas of Karnataka Region, South India

A study was carried out to assess the dental caries status of children from fisher folk communities in South India. The prevalence of dental caries was found to be high in the study population. Further research is suggested to explore the existing scenario.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To assess the dental caries status and treatment needs of children belonging to the fisher folk
communities.

Method: Two hundred and sixty-seven children up to the age of 14 years were examined using the World Health Organization (WHO) oral health assessment criteria, 1997.
