Synopsis: 
This study provides data on the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of pre-clinical, undergraduate dental and medical students on pregnancy and oral health. The data emphasises the need to educate all preclinical students on dental health and pregnancy correlations.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of undergraduate pre-clinical medical and dental students; at the University of the West Indies, towards dental treatment during pregnancy.

The Dundee Education Environment Measure was self-administered in 2004 to undergraduate medical students in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Mona, Jamaica. The students-centredness and friendliness of the educational environment needs to be optimized.

ABSTRACT

Background: In 2001, the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Mona Campus of The University of the West Indies (UWI) introduced a restructured curriculum in keeping with advances in the philosophy of medical education.
