Prof. Grant is the Director General at International Centre for Environmental and Nuclear Sciences University of the West Indies. He obtained his Master’s Degree in 1992 in Radiation and Environmental Physics, from the University of Surrey in England, with specialization in Reactor Physics and Neutron Activation Analysis.
As the former Head of the Nuclear Analytical Laboratory and Reactor Manager at ICENS, he has more than 25 years of experience in the operations and maintenance of the SLOWPOKE-2 research reactor. Mr. Grant served as Director and Project Manager for the successful HEU/
LEU core conversion of the reactor in 2015. He is also an IAEA International Expert in the Field of Research Reactors and Neutron. Activation Analysis and has performed expert missions in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. He serves as a peer reviewer for 4 international Journals, has over 30 peer reviewed articles; two book chapters, numerous technical publications and is responsible for the drafting of the IAEA REGIONAL STRATEGIC PROFILE FOR THE ENGLISH SPEAKING CARIBBEAN 2020–2025, this document will be used to prepare a strategic programme framework to identify and prioritize the region’s most pressing problems and needs that could be addressed using nuclear technologies in the period up to 2025.
