International lecture: How to create a cancer centre of excellence in a tertiary care setting
The Department of Surgery, Radiology, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care welcomes International Guest Lecturer, Professor Andy Smith of the University of Toronto. Professor Smith's majorclinical and research interests are metastatic, locally recurrent andlocally advanced colorectal cancer and knowledge translation. In addition to his surgical practice he maintains an energetic leadership role promoting cancer quality improvment initiatives in Ontario.

Public Forum: The Life and Legacy of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez: His Impact on Latin America and the Caribbean

Seminar: The Banana Industry in Jamaica, 1900 to the Present
The seminar will cover the relevant variables that affected the banana industry over this period such as relevance to the country, location, production, employment, soil, weather, markets and the role of the government. Speaker, Dr. Marshall Hall has served as Chairman of the University of the West Indies Council (Mona), Group Managing Director of the Jamaica Producers Group and Professor of the Dept. of Management Studies at UWI, Mona. Dr. Hall has received several national and private sector honours.
