Dr. Donna Hope- Marquis, Director, Institute of Caribbean Studies and Reggae Studies Unit will deliver the Lecture.

AQUACAM Research Programme Seminar
The Department of Life Sciences, UWI, Mona will host a seminar to highlight the AQUACAM Research Programme, which is a 3-year collaboration (2012-2015) between the Fish4Knowldege Research Consortium (F4K), the Department of Life Sciences and Centre for Marine Sciences, UWI, Mona and the CARIBSAVE Partnership.
The goal of the project is to develop a new monitoring system for tropical reef fish, using fixed underwater video cameras and computer vision software that can detect and recognize approximately 40 species of Caribbean fish and estimate their body length.

Department of Government Research Monthly Seminar
"Disciplining the Nation" is the title of the monthly research seminar being organised by the Department of Government, UWI, Mona. The seminar is set to take place on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2:30 pm at Seminar Room (SR4), Faculty of Social Sciences, UWI, Mona. Dr. Maziki Thame, Lecturer, Department of Government, UWI, Mona will deliver the lecture.
Her presentation will explore the preoccupation with order and discipline over freedom and justice in governance in postcolonial Barbados and Jamaica.

UN Sanctions Lecture
The Department of Government and Quality Assurance Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona present a seminar entitled, The Impact of UN Sanctions. Professor Thomas Biersteker of Graduate Institute of Geneva will share on this occasion. The Lecture takes place on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 5:30 pm at Lecture Room 3, Faculty of Law, UWI, Mona.

The Daphne Douglas Distinguished Lecture is put on by the Department of Library and Information Studies in hounour of her contribution to Library and Information Science in the Caribbean and the development of the Department of Library and Information Studies.
The Lecture will be delivered by Professor Jeanette Allis Bastian, Associate Dean, Professor, and Director, Archives Management Concentration at Simmons College, Graduate School of Library and Information Science, Boston, MA, USA
