The Instructional Development Unit (IDU) at UWI, Mona will host a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Seminar, with a focus on the best practices for writing and publishing journal articles. This seminar will seek to provide information and tips for faculty who are seeking to publish articles in internationally acclaimed and high impact peer-reviewed journals. An erudite panel of experts across the disciplines will share the on the ‘how to’ in journal publishing.

Education Game-Changers : A Lunch and Learn Experience
The Instructional Development Unit at UWI, Mona presents a lunch and learn discussion exploring social media tools in the classroom. The discussion will invesrigate questions like, How can faculty meaningfully enter the 21st century learner’s cyber world and use their online interface for higher education? Developing Independent Learners in the University Classroom
The Instructional Development Unit (IDU) at UWI, Mona presents a lunch and learn discussion entitled, Developing Independent Learners in the University Classroom. The discussion takes place on Wednesday, March 21 at 1 pm at the IDU. It will seek to explore practical ways to foster independent learners in the classroom at the University level.
UWI students are often told that they expected to “read for their degrees” but some students struggle to cope with managing their learning. The weaning from the secondary level for others is sudden and permanent and they too find it difficult to take responsibility for their learning.
