Interested persons are invited to attend the public lecture "Library & information Science Education and its Changing Nature" by Professor Vicki Gregory, School of Information, University of South Florida this afternoon, Thursday, February 23 in the Multi-functional Room, Main Library, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The lecture is being hosted by the Department of Library & Information Studies in collaboration with the Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies, Quality Assurance Unit.

The Disaster Risk Reduction Centre, UWI, will host a public lecture and panel discussion entitled, “Earthquake Forecasting and its Applications”. The event takes place on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 5 pm at the Mona Visitors' Lodge and Conference Centre, UWI, Mona.  The guest lecture will be delivered by Robert Anderson, Senior Geologist, California Seismic Safety Commission. Panellists to share on this occasion include: Mr. Al Adams, Consulting Engineer, SMADA Consultants, Mr. Norman Harris, Engineering Geologist, Mines and Geology Division, Mr. Ronald Jackson, Director General, Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management and Dr. Barbara Carby, Director, Disaster Risk Reduction Centre, UWI.
