Dr. Barbara Gloudon, renowned journalist, playwright and cultural activist will deliver the Philip Sherlock Lecture on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 6 pm at Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts (PSCCA). The Lecture is entitled, Theatre and the Marketplace.

Ramphal Commission on Migration and Development- Public Lecture
At a time when issues surrounding migration and its role in development have taken on primary importance to the survival of developing nations, the Ramphal Commission on Migration & Development, an arm of the Ramphal Centre, and the University of the West Indies (UWI) have come together to host a convention at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre at UWI, Mona from February 21 - 25.

Rex Nettleford Lecture
"Cultivating Caribbean Cultural Regionalism" is the theme of the Rex Nettleford Lecture which takes place on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 5 pm at the Mona Visitors' Lodge and Conference Centre. The Lecture will be delivered by Sir George Alleyne, Chancellor of The University of the West Indies.

Confucius Institute Anniversary Lecture
Professor Kung Hsiang-te, descendant of Confucius, great scholar, teacher, philosopher and social thinker in China, will deliver the second anniversary lecture of the Confucius Institute at UWI, Mona. The Lecture takes place under the theme, “The Emerging China from a Geographic Perspective” on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.at the Inter-Faculty Lecture Theatre, UWI, Mona. He is also Professor of Earth Sciences at Memphis University.
