Karen Henry

Karen M. Henry has been a full-time translator for the past 34 years. She was one of the first 5 students to graduate from the post-graduate Diploma in Translation in 1989, and also among the first 5 students to graduate from the post-graduate Diploma in Conference Interpreting in 1992. She held the post of Head of the Translation Department at the Language Training Centre from 1989-2005, then went on to be a staff translator at the World Bank from 2005 - 2013. Ms. Henry subsequently served as Head of the English Translation Team at the ACP Secretariat in Brussels, from 2016 to 2021. She has taught on UWI's Masters in Translation on several occasions and has a passion for languages, travel, and music. Ms. Henry is an active member of the Translators' and Interpreters' Association of Jamaica, and served as its President from 2011-2014.
