Oneil Madden is a multilingual educator and trainer who has taught English, French, and Spanish courses across universities in France, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands. He is passionate about internationalisation and language immersion and has done extensive work in piloting and operationalising collaboration and partnerships between French and different local universities. Mr Madden has served as President of the Jamaica Association of French Teachers (JAFT) and the Association of Jamaican Nationals in France (JAMINFRANCE), as well as interim Chair of the Department of Humanities at Northern Caribbean University. Mr Madden is also a social commentator and newspaper columnist who articulates on issues in governance, education, and human welfare. He also serves as a guest on current affairs programmes on radio and is a freelance journalist. Mr Madden is currently pursuing a PhD in Language Sciences at Clermont Auvergne University (UCA), France. His thesis focuses on telecollaboration and the use of WhatsApp in the development of cultural, intercultural, and linguistic competences in French and English as Foreign Languages. He holds a Master of Science with emphases in International Project Management and Teaching and Training Course Design in French and English as Foreign Languages from the University of Montpellier, France. He also has a University Diploma in French Language and Didactics from the University of Montpellier. Additionally, he obtained a Bachelor of Education in French and Spanish from Shortwood Teachers’ College. He also possesses a Diploma in Advanced French Language Studies (DALF C2) and certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
