The 2021 Vincent HoSang UWI Venture Competition (UWIVC) Semi Finals was held during the period November 24-25 2021 in a virtual mode due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic. There were 28 teams that presented to a group of expert judges drawn from the private sector. Teams were made up of both graduate and undergraduate students and included one Faculty member. Each team presented a pre-recorded 10 minute video on their business idea to the judges then engaged in a live question and answer session. At the end, eight Semi Finalists emerged with projects spanning across various industries including Technology, Environment, Manufacturing and Services.
The eight Semi Finalists will go on to compete in the UWIVC Finals scheduled for January 2022. Teams will have the opportunity to win cash and other prizes including:
