Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss Gorman was appointed as the thirteenth Chief of Defence Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force on January 22 2022.

She is currently the only woman commanding a military force in the world. She is a career Naval Officer with 31 years of service to the country. Prior to her appointment as Chief of Defence Staff she served as Force Executive Officer and led the Strategic Defence Review of the Force charting the plans for the JDF up to 2037.
