• Halls of Residence:
  • AZ Preston Hall: Aston Preston Hall was officially opened during the 1995/1996 academic year. This co-ed hall of residence houses 332 students across 13 clusters. The hall symbol is the Shark.
  • Chancellor Hall: Chancellor Hall, named in honour of the first Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Her Royal Highness Princess Alice, was officially opened to students in 1954. This all-male hall of residence houses 174 students across five blocks. The hall symbol is the Lion.
  • Taylor Hall: This hall of residence, named in honour of the first Principal of the UCWI, Sir Thomas Weston Johns Taylor, first opened in 1953. It is a co-ed hall of residence which houses 292 students across seven blocks. The hall symbol is the Pelican.
  • Irvine Hall: Irvine Hall is the first of the existing halls of residence at the University of the West Indies, Mona. It opened in 1950 and is named in honour of Sir James Irvine who was the Chair of the British Committee on Higher Education that recommended the creation of the regional UWI. Irvine Hall is a facility which houses 431 students across 7 blocks. The hall symbol is the Torch.
  • Mary Seacole Hall: This hall of residence, named in honour of the courageous Jamaican nurse who served in the Crimean War (Mary Seacole), was established in 1958. Mary Seacole Hall is an all-female hall of residence which houses 252 students across five blocks. The hall symbol is a Pelican nicknamed the “Peliduck.”
  • Elsa Leo-Rhynie Hall: This co-ed hall of residence, named in honour of Professor Elsa Leo-Rhynie who is recognized as the first female to become both Deputy Principal and Principal of the U.W.I., Mona, officially welcomed its first batch of students in 2012. Elsa Leo-Rhynie Hall houses 576 students within five towers. The hall symbol is the Wolf.
  • Rex Nettleford Hall: This hall of residence, named in honour of former Vice Chancellor, Professor Rex Nettleford, opened its first batch of students in 2002. Rex Nettleford Hall is a co-ed hall of residence which houses 796 students within nine clusters. The hall symbol is the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
  • Leslie Robinson Hall: This co-ed hall of residence, built through a private-public partnership agreement between 138 Student Living and the University of the West Indies, is one of the newest halls of residence on Campus. Its first batch of students moved into residence in 2015. The hall has the capacity to house 432 students. The hall symbol is the Phoenix.
  • Marlene Hamilton Studios: The hall of residence, named in honour of former Deputy Principal, Professor Marlene Hamilton, first opened to students in 2012. Marlene Hamilton Hall is a co-ed Post Graduate Residential complex which houses students across four blocks.
  • George Alleyne Hall: George Alleyne hall of residence was officially opened February 13th, 2018. This is a co-ed hall of residence, built through a private-public partnership agreement between 138 Student Living and the University of the West Indies which houses 864 students across four blocks. The hall symbol is a Panther.
  • 600 Block WJC: The Western Jamaica Campus hall of residence was officially opened in November, 2008. Accommodation is provided at the 600 Block facility (located on the Campus). It is a co-ed hall of residence which has the capacity to house 50 students. The hall symbol is the Eagle.
