Whether you choose to live on or off campus, Residential Services is committed to helping you find accommodation that meets your needs. The UWI's halls of residence offer a vibrant student experience, combining comfort, security, convenience, and opportunities for personal growth. Located within walking distance of most campus facilities, the halls provide an ideal environment for academic success and student engagement.

Lodgings Office

The Lodgings Office assists students in securing suitable off-campus accommodation and provides support to new international students by facilitating airport pick-up and transportation arrangements to campus.

Summer Accommodation

Through the Lodgings Office, affordable summer accommodation is available to alumni, current students, faculty, and members of the wider community. Located on the scenic Mona Campus at the foot of the Blue Mountains, guests enjoy convenient access to shopping centres, financial institutions, and recreational attractions.

The University also welcomes group bookings and can accommodate up to 3000 guests across nine residence halls, with both single and double occupancy options available during the summer period.

Placement & Career Services

The Office of Placement and Career Services is committed to helping students prepare for successful careers and meaningful professional opportunities. Through career counselling, employment services, professional development initiatives, and experiential learning opportunities, students are equipped with the tools needed to navigate today's competitive job market. Students can participate in a variety of programmes and services including Annual World of Work Seminars, Job Shadowing Experiences, Career Awareness Month activities, Career Expositions and Job Fairs, Résumé Clinics, Mock Interview Seminars, and Workplace Ethics workshops. The unit also provides individual career counselling, career planning support, self-assessment tools, and career development presentations. In addition, students can access part-time, summer, alumni, and graduate employment opportunities through various recruitment initiatives and partnerships. Special Student Services

The Office for Special Student Services (OSSS) is committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and supportive university environment for students with disabilities and special needs. Through advocacy, individualized support services, and academic accommodations, the office works to ensure that all students have equal opportunities to participate fully in university life and achieve their academic goals. Bus Service

The UWI Mona Shuttle Bus Service provides students with safe, reliable, and convenient transportation throughout the campus and surrounding areas. Designed to improve accessibility and mobility, the service assists students in travelling between key campus locations, halls of residence, academic buildings, and nearby communities. The shuttle system operates along designated routes, including services to Liguanea, Papine, and major locations across the Mona Campus. Regular daytime services and extended evening operations help students move efficiently while supporting their academic, co-curricular, and residential activities. Students can enjoy comfortable, fully air-conditioned transportation and are encouraged to consult the Office of Student Services and Development for the latest route schedules, operating hours, and service updates.

Commuting Students Office

The Commuting Students Office is dedicated to enhancing the university experience of students who travel to campus daily. Through a range of support services, programmes, and facilities, the office provides commuters with opportunities to connect, engage, and fully participate in campus life while balancing the demands of their academic journey. The office manages the Commuting Students Lounge, a welcoming space equipped with amenities designed to support students throughout the day, including study areas, computer access, kitchenette facilities, and comfortable spaces for relaxation and social interaction. The office also coordinates programmes and initiatives that promote student engagement, personal development, and a sense of belonging within the university community. Academic Support Unit

The Academic Support Unit (ASU) is dedicated to helping students achieve academic success and maximize their full potential throughout their university journey. Through a combination of one-on-one support, small group instruction, academic skills development, and motivational workshops, the ASU provides students with the resources needed to thrive both academically and personally. Students can access free tutorials in subject areas with historically high failure rates, as well as support in developing essential skills such as time management, study techniques, critical thinking, note-taking, and exam preparation. The unit also offers workshops and learning support services designed to strengthen academic performance and build confidence.
