CSR as a Hartwick Rule Strategy to Mitigate the Impact of the Resource Curse Lessons for the Educational Sector in Guyana from Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has regained momentum as both
firms and governments have realized that CSR provides a mechanism for
the private sector to align itself with sustainable development goals. In this
paper, we examine the oil and gas sector as firms in this sector have been
at the forefront of the movement towards a greater degree of CSR.
Specifically, we examine Atlantic LNG and British Petroleum in Trinidad
and Tobago, and Staatsolie in Suriname and we show that these companies
