Qualifications & Experience: 

Dr. Carmel Roofe is a Professor of Curriculum Studies in the School of Education at The University of the West Indies, Mona. She currently serves as the Director of the School of Education. She holds a PhD and Master of Philosophy in Curriculum Development from the University of the West Indies, Mona, bachelor’s in education from the University of Technology, Jamaica and a Diploma in Teaching from Shortwood Teachers’ College. Other administrative roles held at The UWI entail programme co-ordinator for masters and doctoral programmes in Curriculum Studies, co-ordinator of the Association for Graduate Researchers in Education (AGRE), Deputy Dean for undergraduate studies, and Deputy Dean for graduate matters within the Faculty of Humanities and Education.
