Dr. Beverley Johnson attended Mico Teachers' College where she pursued a Teacher's Certificate in Primary Education with credit in 1974. She continued her teaching career at the Half Way Tree Primary School for sixteen years, rising to the posts of senior teacher and acting vice principal. During her tenure she gained her first degree with honours from the University of the West Indies in 1988.
