Patrice Clarke (UWI, St Augustine, patrice.clarke@my.uwi.edu) is an MPhil student in Linguistics at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine. Her thesis focuses on native language influence on the writing of D/deaf Jamaican pupils. Her research interests include language contact, second language learning, corpus linguistics and literacy in a Creole-speaking context.
