Synopsis:
This cross-sectional study was conducted to measure the bone mineral density of 499 apparently healthy Saudi females aged 20–65 years using quantitative ultrasound method. It was extended to measure blood receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL) and osteoprotegerin (OPG) among participants and identify possible associated risk factors for osteopaenia or osteoporosis among them.
