B. Sc Information Technology

The BSc IT programme delivers an internationally recognized curriculum that adheres to the ACM/IEEE guidelines for Computing disciplines. The programme prepares students to take on a variety of technology driven roles including IT Systems Management, Software Engineering, Database Administration, Network and Cyber Security among others.  The programme has a mix of practically intensive courses and courses that deliver foundational concepts that provide the basis for students to develop critical thinking skills that will allow them to create, novel solutions using computer technology. The programme also includes an internship which provides industry immersion for students, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills as they learn.

 

Entry Requirements for this degree:

4-year programme:

5 CSEC Subjects (General Proficiency Grades I,II or III) or equivalent, which must include Mathematics & English Language and at least 1 of the following: Information Technology , Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, Additional Mathematics, Computer Science.

OR

3-year programme:

5 CSEC Subjects (General Proficiency Grades I,II or III) or equivalent, with 2 CAPE subjects (both units, grades I-V) or equivalent OR Associate Degree/Diploma in Computing from an accredited institution.
