Over the period of Headships from Reese to Jacobs we note the:
• Conduct of rigorous research
• Production of high quality graduates
• Impact on the teaching of chemistry in high schools through support of initiatives such as the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Spectroscopy Workshop
• Support of industry through the establishment of an M.Sc. programme in Food and Agro-Processing Technology and short courses such as Thermal Processing in the Food Industry/Better Process Control School for certification by the USDA
• Improvement in interactions with alumni through the Chem SAF, the Association of Alumni and Friends of the Chemistry Department
• Improvement in the curriculum and support student retention through programmes such as Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL)
• Improvement in infrastructure
