Job Title: Lab Assistant (2025/26)

Would you like to be a Lab Assistant for the upcoming academic year?

Open To: Incoming Second and Incoming Final year Students Who have Completed All Computing First Year Courses.
Job Type: Part-time (max 6-8 hours per week)
Requirements:
● Successfully completed all first year computing courses (COMP1126, COMP1127, COMP1161, COMP1220, COMP1210/MATH1152, ELET1185 or Related course).
● Minimum GPA of 2.8.
● Achieved natural matriculation to year 2/year 3 of your program.
Duties:
● Supervision of assigned lab sessions
● Maintenance of computers to ensure their availability for students.
● Ability to perform troubleshooting in case of malfunctioning of hardware and software for the purpose of determining appropriate actions for maintaining computer lab operations.
● Conducting workshops for students on the use of the operating systems (Windows, Linux) and software (e.g. Java related platforms, Python, etc) used in the lab
● Assisting students with their programming assignments. As of this academic year, all labs will be conducted online and not face to face
● To be able to provide assistance for multimedia purposes in completion of lecture/lab activities.
Training:
Successful applicants are expected to make themselves available for initial training sessions throughout the month of September and will receive On-The-Job training thereafter.
