Three FST students trained as CPSA-F through UWI/iSAQB partnership

The University of the West Indies, Mona (UWI- Mona) is now a partner of the International Software Architecture Quality Board (iSAQB). Under the partnership, the University is featured on the Academic Partnership website of the iSAQB and gains access to a network of professionals as well as training material for use in Software Architecture Training at UWI-Mona. In addition, the University is permitted to offer Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Foundation (CPSA-F) training (not for profit) using iSAQB's accredited training content, to our full-time students. The partnership was initiated by Dr. Claudine Allen (Lecturer, Department of Computing) who is also an accredited CPSA-F trainer. Through the partnership three students, Kieran Jaggernauth, Ajay Johnson and Colin Campbell received CPSA-F training facilitated by Dr. Allen and a member of the iSAQB. The training, free of cost was held from January 9-13, 2023. Kieran completed his examination and now holds the credential Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Foundation level (CPSA-F). Kieran in sharing his experience noted, “The CPSA-F training by Dr. Allen was an extremely helpful and interactive experience with a very comprehensive walkthrough of everything you need to know to get this certificate. The practice and discussions helped me significantly to increase my understanding and perspective of various software architecture practices all within a week. I strongly believe that getting this certificate was a critical milestone in my personal and professional development on my path to becoming a software architect, especially since the benefits last a lifetime”. The others students received discounted vouchers to pursue their examinations. The UWI students received 20 hours of CPSA-F training.
