Course Content
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of remote sensing. It covers topics such as the history of remote sensing, electromagnetic radiation, sensors, platforms, digital images, image classification, and various applications of remote sensing, such as monitoring of atmosphere, ocean, and terrestrial characteristics. Laboratory sessions held in a computer lab will provide students with hands-on experience with the software and techniques used in remote sensing and image analysis. The course is assessed by 100% coursework which includes practical assignments, a research paper, and a poster presentation.
