My research is organized around three interrelated themes: Atmospheric Remote Sensing: My work investigates satellite-based precipitation products across multiple spatial and temporal scales. I evaluate rainfall retrieval algorithms, assess their performance in tropical climates, and examine uncertainties associated with precipitation estimation. This research contributes to improved hydrological modelling, drought assessment, water resource management, and climate resilience planning, particularly in SIDS where reliable in situ data are often limited. Oceanic Remote Sensing I study ocean mesoscale phenomena, as well as variability in sea surface characteristics using satellite observations and reanalysis datasets. My research examines spatial and temporal dynamics in ocean conditions such as salinity and temperature and explores linkages between oceanic processes and regional rainfall patterns in tropical island environments. Geoscience/Geography Education My educational research focuses on advancing teaching and learning in GIS, Remote Sensing, and broader Geoscience/Geography programmes. I explore curriculum innovation, spatial literacy development, and the integration of open data, open-source geospatial technologies, and other educational technologies to enhance applied and experiential learning in higher education. Interdisciplinary GIS and Remote Sensing Applications I am also actively engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations that apply GIS and Remote Sensing to societal and environmental challenges.
