Course Description


This course seeks to introduce the student to the unique characteristics of the Caribbean economy, highlighting the challenges faced and the opportunities that beckon.  A brief history of the Caribbean economies will precede an examination of the structure and review some of the theories that have been advances to explain the economic underdevelopment/development of the region\'s economies. The course will also review the impact of globalization on the economies of the Caribbean , and assess the region\'s efforts at sustainable development.
