 COURSE DESCRIPTION

Game Theory, as a field of economics, deals with the study of the actions and decisions of economic agents who are aware that their actions do have an effect on one another.  Unlike Decision Theory in which an economic agent is concerned about the optimal decision to make under situations of uncertainty, game theory is concerned with the best strategy or decision that an economic agent should take, considering the strategies and decisions of other stake holders.
This course is the first of two in the Game Theory sequence at the graduate level.  The course will follow the layout in the prescribed text.  Whenever reference is made to materials outside of the text, such materials will be provided to students by the Lecturer.
