BSc, Economics, Special


The BSc Economics special prepares graduates with a strong grounding in economic theory, quantitative skills in statistics and econometrics and exposes them to a range of fields within the discipline if economics. Graduates are well-equipped to pursue graduate programmes in economics and related disciplines.  Alternatively, they have a good foundation for on-the-job learning and training as technocrats in both the public and private sectors.  Entry into the working world is usually at the level of the junior technocrat, with the likelihood of moving up to a middle level technocrat with experience and further training.

  • FOUN1013-Critical Reading and Writing in the Social Sciences
  • Two free electives from level I
