Welcome to the Faculty of Medical Sciences Personal and Professional Development Office (PPDO). Personal and Professional Development is the process by which you engage in the identification and reflection on your current resources, strengths, skills and attributes, and plan for your future self. This process involves some effort as it requires you to mindfully explore and gather information about your current experiences and reflect on areas for self-development. Personal and Professional Development Officers help students academically, socially, and emotionally. We are ready to help you identify your strengths or personal assets, as well as your unique or shared psychosocial stressors, and provide you with the support required to fulfil your potential while studying here with us.
Our mission is whatever the issue, we’ll help you figure it out.
Hello! Whether you are just getting started or re-settling into campus life, you are on track to having a unique university experience. As a PPDO, I provide a safe and supportive space to help you throughout your time here with us. Our office is interested in exploring the mechanisms in the development of psychopathologies to aid the understanding of our students to better treat with their issues. I believe in providing psychoeducation to students here in the faculty as a preventative measure so that students can function at optimum throughout the entire duration of their time at the University. We aid you the students we serve to identify their stressors, build resilience and access the resources and tools that you will need to get the most of their university experience.
As we continue to assist students with their personal and professional growth through the development of self-awareness and purposeful assessment, we encourage that all strive for balance in their pursuit of a healthier and more fulfilling life.
