Synopsis:
There were no significant differences between the total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) and vaginal hysterectomy (VH) groups in terms of intraoperative and postoperative complications. However, TLH was associated with significantly longer operative time and a trend toward a shorter hospital stay than VH.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To compare the outcomes of total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), a relatively new procedure, with vaginal hysterectomy (VH), a well-established procedure, in a university teaching hospital.
