Analysis of Axillary Lymph Nodes in Breast Cancer Patients with Positive Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2017.092
Synopsis:
This study has shown the analysis and characteristics of axillary lymph nodes after axillary dissection. The likelihood of non-SLN metastases is shown to be dependent on penetration of the sentinel’s capsule by malignant cells, tumor grade, stage, and molecular subtype.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The aim of this study was to show the incidence of patients with positive non-sentinel (non-SLN)  after the axillary dissection was performed due to positive sentinel lymph node (SLN) and also to show how the incidence of positive non-SLN depends on penetration of sentinel's capsule by malignant cells, gradus and molecular subtype of the breast cancer.
