Synopsis:
We hypothesized that the personality traits, the emotion and stress disturbances induced by the high altitude environment may contribute to the development of acute mountain sickness (AMS). In the current study, young adult subjects who travelled to the plateau from the plain area by air were recruited. The emotional anxiety and personality traits of the participants were investigated by questionnaires, respectively. The correlation of anxiety and personality traits with the development of AMS was analysed.
