Synopsis: 
A study of keratinophilic fungi of feathers of 94 birds belonging to 12 species yielded 59 isolates of Chrysosporium (mainly C indicum, C tropicum), nine of Sepedonium spp and four isolates of the geophilic dermatophyte, Microsporum gypseum.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the occurrence of keratinophilic fungi including dermatophytes on feathers of domestic and wild birds in the islands of St Kitts and Nevis.
