Health-related Quality of Life and Risk of Malnutrition among Persons on Maintenance Haemodialysis

Synopsis: 
We studied the association between health-related quality of life and risk of malnutrition among persons on maintenance haemodialysis. Persons on receiving maintenance haemodialysis had a poorer health-related quality of life score and were more likely to be at risk of malnutrition. This may have implications for effective patient management.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and risk of malnutrition among persons with chronic kidney disease (CKD), on maintenance haemodialysis.

An Investigation of the Effects of Gross Motor Function Levels on the Nutrition and Growth Status of Children with Spastic Quadriparetic Cerebral Palsy

Synopsis: 
An increased gross motor function level in children with spastic quadriparetic cerebral palsy (CP) affects their nutrition and growth level unfavorably. Children with CP who are in a better state functionally are closer to the normal nutrition and growth pattern.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the gross motor function levels and nourishment and growth levels of children with spastic quadriparetic cerebral palsy.

Radiological Score in Malnourished and Well-nourished Children with Active Rickets

Synopsis: 
Radiological evidence and healing process of rickets were similar in both the well-nourished and malnourished groups with rickets. We also recommend that radiological follow-up duration may be extended to at least 12 weeks.

Polypharmacy and the Risk of Malnutrition among Independently-living Elderly Persons in Trinidad and Tobago

In this study, we investigated the association between polypharmacy and risk of malnutrition. The findings indicate that among independent-living elderly persons, polypharmacy was associated with increased risk of malnutrition.
